Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) Official site with information about the legal requirements in the UK for driving and putting vehicles on the road within the law. Has sections on driving licences, road tax, learning to drive and driving with medical conditions. Also includes advice on vehicle registration, off-road declarations, importing vehicles and buying used cars. Site has details of fees and how to avoid auto crime. http://www.dvla.gov.uk

Institute of Advanced Motorists This is for the group that runs the Advanced Driving Test - which you can take in any car you like, including kits. There is information about local groups, road safety, how to join, services, news and the aims of the IAM. http://www.iam.org.uk

Motor Vehicle Dismantlers' Association This is the site for the scrap and recycling industry's trade association. Site says it represents is members and the "cause of auto recycling" to the Government. Most of the UK's larger dismantlers are members, it is said, and they abide by a code of practice. There are details of MVDA trading terms, a directory of members and details of how to contact the organisation. Also has a parts finding service. http://www.mvda.co.uk

STATUS - Specialist Transport Advice and Testing Society Carries out technical tests for and offers legal advice to its members - specialist motoring companies who subscribe to receive low cost development and testing facilities. Site has details of personnel, tests and legal expertise on offer. Companies can have seat belt anchorage, impact, fuel tanks and other components tested. Status has up to date information about motoring legislation not just in the UK but the EC and across the world - which manufacturers can access when developing projects for home or overseas markets. VOSA - Vehicle and Operator Services Agency The agency provides licensing, testing and enforcement of various vehicle standards in the UK.
